For our first invitation to Madrid this year, the Spanish brand bq had not convinced us. The Aquaris A4.5, was presented, but in fact we knew already. This time, the Spanish brand introduced a range of products consistent with its universe at the crossroads between technophilia and pedagogy. We could discover the Aquaris X5, the newcomer.

This is the Teatro Goya in Madrid that the Spanish brand, present in France for just one year, unveiled its new line of products. A smartphone, the Aquaris X5, tablet, Aquaris the M10, two 3D printers (expensive products to the brand), the Witbox Hephestos 2 and 2, a toy: Zowi and even a connected lamp, Halu. First contact with the Aquaris X5: dressing here chosen for the demonstration is doubly anodized aluminum with rounded edges and a strapping lamé effect. The white version with pink gold outline is neat and rather sophisticated. It is far from thick plastic buttons Aquaris M5 model that we tested in August. Integration here more discreet and refined, with the will to offer a smartphone felt as premium for the Spanish brand that opts for a rose gold colors which easily convene memories of an expensive smartphone to the Apple brand.

The datasheet for the Aquaris X5 is honorable. The new bq is a smartphone 7.5 millimeters thick for a 5 inch screen with a weight of 148 grams therefore nonetheless. It also has a 2900 mAh LiPo battery. The Aquaris bq X5 is available in four colors: dark gray, silver gray, black and white / pink gold. Side storage were announced four versions. It is likely that only versions 16 and 32 GB with 2 GB and 3 will be launched in France.

Improvements ... but no revolution
During his presentation to the conference Aquaris X5 bq has reminded the properties of its previous model, the LTE Aquaris E5 and X5 announced that its Aquaris is to overtake. An improvement therefore, with 16.67% power estimation more about the CPU 1.2 GHz (Snapdragon 412), and 14% improvement on the opening time applications and loading time over time previously recorded on the E5 LTE.
The brand claims to have achieved a feat with its rates (from 229.90 euros for the 16GB version and 2GB + 249,90 euros for the 32 GB + 2GB) and is particularly proud to have managed to fit in a smartphone metallic 2900 mAh battery. Its autonomy is estimated at 20 hours talk time on 3G, 8 hours of browsing on 3G and 4G, 11 hours on Wi-fi, and 40 hours of music from a connected audio casqua. If the packaging and specifications are rather interesting little features and software side, it remains on the very basic and it is expected that the Spanish brand take a step forward, while keeping competitive prices on the market.
