Bendgate: Is the Nexus 6P too fragile?

While the smartphone is still not released in France and that Google seems to have struggled to meet the demand, a netizen identified a major concern on the Nexus 6P. It would be particularly fragile and easily broken by applying pressure with bare hands.

As usual for most smartphones, the YouTube account JerryRigEverything had fun torturing the new PHABLET Google and Huawei, the Nexus 6P. In a video posted on October 29, he has tested the resistance of the screen scratches, but also to the very high temperature, as well as scratches on the back of the device. If the smartphone does not come out particularly well in these tests, it is really the strength of the pressure device that seemed to cause a problem. The videographer has indeed been able to bend the Nexus just 6P using both hands. A problem that is reminiscent of the "bendgate" iPhone 6 Plus.

However, many netizens questioned this test on the grounds that the previous tortures of the smartphone, including the hot shot, could weaken the glue of the screen and the whole structure of the apparatus. Neither one, nor two, JerryRigEverything therefore redid the test with a new Nexus 6P and the results look the same even without the flame of the lighter screen. Again, PHABLET not test unscathed and eventually folded under the pressure of the hands of the tester. To believe the videographer, the fragility of the smartphone would be caused by three faults: the aluminum frame is not screwed into the phone's structure, it would also be too late and the battery would be too far from the motherboard, thus causing brittleness point in the middle of the smartphone.

Note that JerryRigEverything passed the same test at other high-end smartphones, the LG G4 iPhone 6S, the OnePlus Two, the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note 5. All survived except HTC Nexus One M9 and 6P.
