If you watched the images of Downwell, there is a good chance that you're going to say we still speak of an independent game with a little ugly graphics but arty. You did not entirely wrong (and know that you are a bit nasty), but in the case of Downwell, its a bit yucky graphics are far outweighed by its gameplay both enjoyable and nervous. In fact, it's mostly a tribute to the graphics of the 80 games in full swing, the game runs at 60 frames per second and work on animations is simply outstanding.

Do not forget that Downwell is the work of one person, Ojiro Fumoto. A passionate developer who does not hide his admiration for his Twitter account Spelunky, one of the best roguelike recent years. Spelunky Downwell and share many common points: starting with the complete lack of save game Once the hero of hit points without name exhausted, it dies and it is necessary to start from the beginning.. To try to go as far as possible, merchants appear randomly in the levels to purchase some items conferring bonus.

The greatest originality of Downswell mainly due to its gameplay. Here it embodies a hero who falls into a well (hence the title of the game). A fall studded platforms, traps, enemies and bosses, the player must avoid or destroy with his shoes whose soles contain lasers or shotguns according harvested bonus. Pull then slows his fall and do the housework. The official website, very original in its design helps to understand precisely the game mechanics with a simple mouse wheel.

Donwell is quite difficult, but it quickly takes charge and shows particularly suited for touch screens. For now, the game is available on Steam (2.99 euros) and on iOS (also 2.99 euros). Ojiro Fumoto confirmed to Pocket Gamer that the Android version would arrive "at the beginning of November, but it may so before the end of October." The price of the Android version was not specified, but is still expected at a price of 2.99 euros. Strongly.
